Tourists should fork up for departure from Japan


In Japan the law according to which each tourist leaving the country is obliged to pay a tax came into force. About it on Monday, January 7, The Mainichi reports. It is noted that the amount of a tax levy for departure will be 1000 yens (about 600 rubles). The law works for citizens of all countries. The persons who bought tickets till January 7, children up to two years, transients, diplomats and passengers of government special flights are exempted from payment of collecting. Also the tax will not be paid by crews of vessel and planes and also passengers in case of emergency landing of the plane or calling port of the ship because of weather conditions. The authorities of the country counted that by 2020 Japan will be visited by about 40 million tourists. In 2019 income from a tax on departure will reach 50 billion yens. At the same time the law on free issue of visas will continue to work. The tax levy will allow to expand and strengthen tourism infrastructure. In particular, it is planned to introduce the system of automatic face recognition at the airports, to increase appeal of tourist attractions and to provide fuller information and service to tourists. In December it was reported that the National Diet made the decision to lift the ban on use in the country of foreign workers. Japan intends to attract more than 340 thousand citizens of the foreign states within the next five years because of rapid growth of jobs which locals cannot fill.
