The solution of a semicentennial riddle of physics is found

Scientists of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have thought up a way by means of which a dry long macaroni can be broken on two parts. As a rule, it breaks on three or more parts, and in 2005 physicists have explained why so occurs. It is reported in the press release on Phys.org. For the first time the attention to a riddle of spaghetti was paid by the physicist Richard Feynman in the middle of the 20th century who tried to find out how to make so that macaroni when bending were divided into two equal parts. Later the French scientists who have got the Ig Nobel Prize for the work have come to a conclusion that spaghetti and any other thin cores break in the middle, at the same time there is a wave of deformation which breaks integrity of a core in other his part. However remained to unknown that it is necessary to make that macaroni broke in half. According to new scientific work, it will occur only at specific deformation of a core. Scientists have created the car which twisted spaghetti of various thickness and broke them in half. In most cases macaroni were divided into two equal parts. At this spaghetti it is necessary to twist by 270 degrees and to bend with a speed of three millimeters a second. It is more than important news in Film of Day Telegram-channel. Subscribe!
